A Tale Of Two Cities - Boston & Chicago
What a contrast between the clouds and fog on Friday and the bright sun on Saturday. Even with the clouds, the Chicago skyline still enchanted me. There's something about that city that made me feel very welcome and at home.
After our food blogger dinner, which I'll talk about more in a later post, we took the L or is it the EL? Either way, we took the train back to our hotel. It was the Red Line! Just like home! And guess what? The White Sox game had just let out and the train was filled with drunken Sox fans! Luckily they had won, so they weren't angry drunks. Just like home! And several people from Chicago complained about how the Red Line was always stopping for no reason and was very slow. Just like home!
During a break between Blogher sessions, I went to the top of the roof where they were setting up for the reception later that evening. It was fairly quiet, so I enjoyed the gorgeous view and took some pictures.
Since arriving back from Chicago, I had to jump back into work and have been eating leftovers.
You'd think a food blogger would have a few more things to eat in her fridge, so I got to some cooking tonight. Nothing fancy, just a simple quiche with some fresh basil, mushrooms, asiago, cheddar, and romano cheeses.
More Blogher posts coming up soon!

Yesterday when I had been home for a few hours, I finally realized that I was expected to get my own clean towels, and make my own food again. I'm still trying to adjust. :)
Welcome home. The quiche looks and sounds lovely.
It was great to meet you last weekend. I'm glad you survived the el and the drunken Sox fans.
Great photos, by the way!
"Nothing fancy, just a simple quiche with some fresh basil, mushrooms, asiago, cheddar, and romano cheeses." You're SO modest! : )
The quiche looks amazing!
And that quiche looks so good. I've never actually made one. I don't even know where to start. But I love eating it :-) So a recipe would be nice :-D, especially if it is simple...
asha - Sorry, no Chicago pizza stories!
nance - I think you're right. When I was coming home from work the other day, I tried to look at all the rowdy Red Sox fans through the eyes of a tourist. It seems much more exciting that way!
terry b - Welcome! It was great meeting you too! Oh, yeah, you are a two baseball team town. That would be interesting here if we had two teams. People are angry enough as it is, I cannot even imagine!
suldog - Thanks! It's nice being home, but to be honest, I wouldn't have minded spending a few more days there. I didn't have any weird food, but I had some great salmon on a stick at a cocktail reception. That was a little different.
lotus reads - Thanks! It's funny all the comments about the pizza. I wasn't even thinking about having pizza when I got there.
the thinking black man - Oh you have to go visit soon! I think I've fallen in love with the city! And thanks for the compliments! The quiche was pretty good!
tera - It turned out pretty well!
sanjay - Thanks!
sai - Thanks! You sure have lived a lot of places!
cynthia - Yes it is Navy Pier! What a great location for a conference!
mosilager - Is that the conclusion that I gave? I love Boston and other cities too, but Chicago has a special place in my heart. And I still have more posts to go!
capcity - LOL! Thanks Cap! ; )
gemma - Welcome and thanks! It was great meeting you too! I'm looking forward to reading more of your blog.
