21 Days of Yoga Challenge: Day 21

I did it! Who knew that 21 days would go by so quickly? Thank you for the encouragement!

Now, I'm so used to my daily routine, that it seems rather strange that I didn't do this before. I'm going to keep this going, because it feels pretty good. There are a few more changes happening with my diet and exercise too. But I'm going to hold off on writing them here until I have something more concrete to tell you.

One thing, after reading this blog post about pesticides and which foods have more of them, I'm radically altering the fruits that I buy.

I'm a huge fan of berries, but it appears from this list, that they are some of the the worst when it comes to pesticides, so purchasing them organic is the best thing. The problem is that I usually buy berries when they are on sale and stock up. I'll have to eat way less berries, because from what I've seen, the organic ones usually don't go on sale. And they are just too expensive.

This list by the Environmental Working Group gives the produce that is best to buy organic and also the fruits and vegetables that are lowest in pesticides, so it's not necessary to buy them organic.

I do love kiwi and cantaloupe. Pineapple, watermelon, mangos, grapefruit, and honeydew melon are tasty as well and on the list that are low in pesticides. This is quite a wake-up call and makes me wonder how much pesticide I've ingested over the years.

As Roseanne Roseannadanna used to say, "It's always something."

It is scary isn't it? That's why I can't wait for summer and the local organic farms to open.
