How Much Do Lawyers Love Food? Let Me Count The Ways.

In the beginning stages of this blog, I wrote this post here about how much lawyers like food. I came across this article today on Boston.com reaffirming this truth. I've never worked at the firm mentioned, but I have been a beneficiary of the free dinners after 7:00, which is pretty common at a lot of big law firms. They were wonderful! So are you wondering what's next? Me too! I'm trying to make this flow!

Actually I'm finally responding to Nina, who tagged me. Here it is! Oh and for those of you who don't know, if you tag me, I always change the meme. And anyone who wants to do this too, consider yourself tagged! By the way, this is a food meme if you haven't guessed already. See the connection? ; )

I’m not sure of the exact name of this meme, so I’m giving it a new name. From this day forward (or at least until someone changes it) it shall be called Who Are You & Where Do You Eat?

velverse (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)
LB (San Giovanni in Marignano, Italy)
Selba (Jakarta, Indonesia)
Olivia (London, England)
ML (Utah, USA)
Lotus (Toronto, Canada)
tanabata (Saitama, Japan)
Andi (Dallas [ish], Texas, United States)
Todd (Louisville, Kentucky, United States)
miss kendra (los angeles, california, u.s.a)
Jiggs Casey (Berkeley, CA, USA! USA! USA!)
Tits McGee (New England, USA)
Kat (Ontario, Canada)
Cheezy (London, England)
Paula (Orange County, California, U.S.)
Jeff (Colorado, USA)
Fringes (around Houston, US)
Tera (Somewhere In KY by way of OH, USA)
Nina (Cleveland Area, OH, USA)
Anali (near Boston, MA, USA)

I’ve added my name city, state and country to this list of people who completed it before me. I’m also supposed to list my top five places to eat. I find that a little difficult at the moment. I don’t really eat out too often. I tend to make most of my meals at home. And when I do eat out, I usually like to try different places.

However, that has changed somewhat for my lunch. I used to bring it just about everyday. For the first two weeks working at my new office, I bought my lunch everyday from the same place. And now I usually go there at least a couple of times a week. My co-workers call it "my place" and a few of them have tried it too.

It’s called Boston Beanstock Coffee Co. and they have amazing meals and treats for not much money. The people who work there are so friendly and nice. Once you go a few times, they remember you. They have wonderful sandwiches, soups, quiche, salads, muffins, and cookies, cupcakes, cakes, and tarts. You won’t believe the amount of baked goods! Well, another of their locations is in the North End, so maybe you will believe it. For those of you who are not familiar with Boston, the North End is known for its amazing array of Italian restaurants and bakeries. When you arrive in the North End you know it, because the smell of the food will take you over. I go to the location on High Street, which is in the Financial District.

The selection of tea and coffee is wonderful too. I don’t spend too much money on coffee and brew my own at home as part of my morning ritual. I tend to change brands depending upon what is on sale and how much I can justify spending. I am somewhat picky though. I like really strong coffee. As a treat, I splurged and bought Boston Beanstock’s Coconut Crème coffee beans and have been grinding them fresh every morning. Perfection! Plus the store also sells T-shirts and they have a display of pocketbooks and belts for sale that were made by a local designer. The downside is that the one near me is only open from 6am to 6pm weekdays. Anyway, I love this place if you couldn’t tell!

And an update on the splog that was stealing my content. Google AdSense acknowledged my DMCA Complaint and the offending website appears to have disappeared!

Hello Anali,

Nice pictures, especially those cupcakes to the right. Yummy! So you have adopted the term food pornographer I see; you very well should, because every time I visit your site, even if I’m not thinking about food I get hungry. Shame on you! (lol)

You will have to post a little calorie burner exercise on here to accompany those tasty treats you both buy and create. (lol)

Have yourself a wonderful week, and as always, Happy Sipping!

I work in a law firm and I can adamantly attest that lawyers love food and our clients know this. Around holiday time you would think that we were running part-time bakery so many baked goods come through our office. Great post as always.

Anali Just a little aside...
Talking about Boston and Lawyers...I really enjoy Boston Legal, we have just seen "The Bride Wore Blood" ep...it is still probably along with House and Grey's Anatomy the best US dramas on TV. They need an episode about food,I mean look at those 2 little tubbies Denny & Alan (who are bursting out their suits).Maybe they have a Ken Desmarais on staff!!!

Cheers

Thanks for doing your part to get rid of the splog.

On another note, I'm not a fan of flavored coffees. Do you drink them very often? I just can't stand that extra flavor first thing in the morning. I just want my jolt of good old plain caffeine. Anything else is too much.

Coconut Creme coffee beans... that sounds so decadent! I'm drinking Hazelnut, but now I really, really want to trade it in for coconut, lol. I used to live in Boston and loved the area. It was little difficult for my husband because he's a Yankee fan and considers it "enemy territory" but he has to admit, he loved living in MA too. :)

Hi, Anali!

I did this tag a couple of weeks ago and I am thrilled to bits to see it has reached your door!!!

I love coffee bars or pubs, I much prefer them to regular restaurants, guess that's because I can't resist a really nice cup of coffee and a sandwich, with a small slice of cake for after.

HI!sorry I just came by to say hi:)
Coconut Creme coffee beans...

Now I feel so inadequate. I thought having my little Starbucks Cafe Verona in my office was something special.

How wrong could a Brother be?

Coconut Creme coffee beans.

tera - It's so good!

dezel - LOL! I'll have to post a mini treadmill. Enjoy the holiday weekend!

aviana - I hope the coffee eventually kicked in! ; )

asha - Hazelnut is good too and one of my old standbys!

amisha - Not all of them, but many of them. The last place I was at and my new place don't have them. It really is an incentive to stay later. Well public interest places have no money, so if they feed you, it could be in place of paying you!! : ) And no rush on the bags.

starry nights - I haven't had much cajun food, but what I've had has been great!

parisbreakfasts - LOL! Witty-ness! I bet the judges are over there all the time and everyone else too! Yum!

tsiporah - I believe it! Oh the joy of baked goods! ; )

so simple - You're so right!! I love "Boston Legal" too. Maybe next season...

nance - I'm glad I was able to get rid of it. But unfortunately, it was just one of many. And I do drink flavored coffees often. I use flavored coffee creamers too!

kaylee - I'm sure you'd love it! And thanks for dropping by again to say "hi!" No need to apologize! ; )

ari - I didn't know you lived in Boston before! Did you go to school up here? It is sort of enemy territory for Yankees fan, but most people are actually pretty good natured about it. I admit there are some hardcore people who will actually get a little nuts. My brother is a Yankee fan, but I still love him!

nina - See what you inspired!

lotus reads - That's so funny that it's the same tag! I saw your name on the list and was counting to see if there were "six degrees of separation", but it seemed to be more. Although, it's difficult to tell with people's online names.

the thinking black man - LOL! Cafe Verona sounds good to me my brotha! : )
