Cream puffs are the new chocolate-chip cookies. They can't keep enough in stock at a new cream puff shop in San Francisco. One thing that I've noticed since law school is that lawyers REALLY love food. And don't do anything to come between a lawyer and his cream puff, as the following exchange illustrates.
"It's unbelievable," said Joshua Lipshutz, 29, outside Beard Papa's on a recent afternoon. "We'd never heard of it before."
The previous day, he and fellow attorney Jordan Goldstein, 32, had been taking a walk when they came upon the shop, which is located on Mission Street across from Yerba Buena Gardens. They ingested half a dozen puffs.
"It was one of the best days of my life," said Goldstein, who returned with his friend 24 hours later to procure six more pastries. "These are like eating air."
