Have You Tried Pandora?

I seem to be into lists lately. And checking them twice! ; )

I have another one coming up soon. But for now, my list relates to Pandora. I know the 21st century is still pretty young, but I think Pandora is one of the best inventions of the century so far. Here's a partial description from the website.
"With Pandora you can explore this vast trove of music to your heart's content. Just drop the name of one of your favorite songs or artists into Pandora and let the Genome Project go. It will quickly scan its entire world of analyzed music, almost a century of popular recordings - new and old, well known and completely obscure - to find songs with interesting musical similarities to your choice. Then sit back and enjoy as it creates a listening experience full of current and soon-to-be favorite songs for you. You can create up to 100 unique "stations." And you can even refine them. If it's not quite right you can tell it so and it will get better for you."
I've always loved music and as a kid remember wishing that I could skip songs on the radio and play all the music that I love in a row. Well, fast forward a few decades and it's here!

If you follow me on twitter, you've probably seen that I often tweet my music. It's like being a DJ and is really fun. I'm doing it right now as I write this blog post.

If you're interested in learning more about Pandora and it's beginnings, NPR's Tom Ashbrook interviewed the founder Tim Westergren for On Point; listen here.

And check out the music that people are tweeting on Pandora right now. Below is a partial list of my Pandora tweets. Enjoy!

I didn't know it, thank you so much for sharing...it happens to me too, thinking something and then, after "some years", somebody create it, nice!

I'm excited for you and your Pandora discovery. It's an amazing tool that has helped me discover bands I would have otherwise never known about.

alessandra - Welcome! Those discoveries are nice! ; )

mocha dad - I'll have to check out some of your stations, if you tweet them or if they're on your blog.

jennifer - I love the name Pandora too. I was always intrigued by the myth of Pandora's Box as a kid. And it's true about Pandora, once you try it, there's no going back!

Judging from your list, you'd enjoy my husband's internet radio station which has five streams of music. Check it out sometime: sun-music dot net.
