Girl Scout Cookies Are Back!

If you're like me, you still get excited when you learn that the cookies are back. Well, beginning this Friday, December 7th, Girl Scout Cookies are back! At least in Eastern Massachusetts. Cookies will be sold until March 12, 2013.
The Girl Scout Cookie season runs from October to May, with most local cookie sales beginning late January to early February. To find out when Girl Scout Cookies are available near you, go to www.girlscoutcookies.org.
And for the first time since 1999, all boxes of Girl Scout Cookies have a new look and a new purpose: to elevate the significance of the Girl Scout Cookie Program, a $790-million girl-led business.
The iconic Girl Scout Cookie package showcases the five financial literacy and entrepreneurship skills that the Girl Scout Cookie Program teaches girls: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics.

So not only do we get to eat delicious cookies, we're helping to build the next generation of women business leaders! Plus, they'd make a great holiday present. Wouldn't mind some myself.
Girl Scouts will be selling eight flavors: Thin Mints, Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Patties, Shortbreads, Thanks-A-Lots, Lemonades, Peanut Butter Sandwiches and new Mango Crèmes.

Funds from cookie sales support leadership programs for girls, and helps to keep Girl Scouts accessible to girls who rely on scholarships in order to participate. Girl Scout cookies are $4 a box.

Disclosure: While this post was not written in order to receive anything, I did receive two complimentary boxes of Girl Scout Cookies after the fact as a thank you. Yum! Thank you Girl Scouts!
