New To Me ~ Market Basket aka Bakery Heaven

This morning I had a dentist appointment. The good news - no cavities! The bad news - I probably need a root canal. As much as it's not what I wanted to hear, seeing what people in New York and New Jersey are still having to go through certainly gives me some perspective. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone.

So as I was leaving my dentists, I noticed that a new Market Basket opened up. This place is amazing! I wish there were a store in Quincy! Over the years, I've heard people gushing about how much they love Market Basket. I don't think I've ever heard a bad thing about the store. And nobody seems to feel less than love and adoration for the place. Now I know why!

The place is HUGE! But it doesn't feel overwhelming. The prices were much cheaper on so many things. Take the price of ground cardamom. It was $7.99! That's not cheap compared to other spices. Cardamom is very expensive. But in other stores it's usually five or six dollars more than that.

The customer service was excellent. There was always someone around asking if they could help. They had most all if not all the registers open and working. Even something as small as the grocery receipt was done right. It's printed on both sides, so you don't have a crazy long piece of paper and they are using less paper, so it's better for the environment.

Then I got to the bakery! Oh. My. God. This bakery is so over the top well stocked that I can barely wrap my head around the varieties of breads and desserts. I almost can't handle it! I literally had to restrain myself from buying like four loaves of bread! I just bought one  loaf and not even the one I intended to get for the week. But it looked so good and it's specially made to make French Toast. Guess what I'm having for breakfast tomorrow!?

Anyone thinking about shopping for an event, party, Thanksgiving, etc., I definitely would put Market Basket on the list of places to shop. Even if you have to go out of your way. And on this blog, for now I'll focus on Thanksgiving, because Thanksgiving comes first!

I ended up doing all my shopping there and I hadn't shopped for a couple of weeks, so they definitely stole some business from the competition. Have a great weekend everyone! I'm looking forward to seeing SNL tonight! The last one before the election!
