A Firelight Labyrinth Walk In Hanover

The Presbyterian Church in Needham

Last August, I wrote this post about a new labyrinth that I walked. #82 on my life list is to walk 50 different labyrinths. Since I've already walked two, I still have 48 new labyrinths to find.

My next planned labyrinth walk is going to be a very special one. Each Wednesday night from Memorial Day through November, the First Congregational Church of Hanover has a firelight labyrinth walk. Fire always adds another element when doing something spiritual. Many of us light candles when we meditate. And I had such an amazing time at WaterFire.

When I go, I'll take pictures. But I wanted to make sure that I blogged this, so many of you can plan to go too. It looks like a fun summer thing to do. It's free, would be a great way to clear your mind and maybe meet some interesting people too. If any of you go, please let me know how you liked it.

If you're looking for more things to do, take a look here at frequently updated listings that I write for a blog called iZ iT LunchTime Yet?.

*Updated  9/1/11* ~ Last night a friend and I had planned to go to the Hanover labyrinth. At the last minute, I called to confirm that they are still having the firelight walks. Luckily I called, because they haven't been doing them this year. I spoke to the new minister and he says that he'll let me know when they start up again. As soon as I know, I'll update this post again.

Oooh, you just reminded me that I need to get on this! I printed out the list, based on the link in your post about them, and there are a few not too far from home. I couldn't agree with you more about how firelight adds another dimension. Thanks for the reminder Lisa!

What a great idea. I love how you made a list and are actually doing what's on it. The walks and waterfire look beautiful. There's also a small labyrinth at Heritage Museum and Gardens in Sandwich.
Thanks for the heads up! Very cool goal. :)

el - I've always loved lists and I'm finding that even public ones work. Thanks for the tip on the labyrinith in Sandwich! I'll have to look for it and see what beaches are near.

michelle collins - You're welcome! This week was so rainy, but it looks like the weather is going to get better soon and I can make my way over there. :D
