Boston's Lit Up

Halloween was a bit early in Boston this year. I saw this beautiful picture on Universal Hub and had to share it. Boston lit up 30,128 pumpkins setting the new world record for the most jack-o'-lanterns lit in one place.

I thought it was kind of neat and interesting that Boston had a wonderful event full of beautiful colors, where the celebration involves lights on the same night as Diwali, the Hindu "Festival of Lights." I guess last night was beautiful all over. For those who celebrated, I hope you had a Happy Diwali!

foodie's hope - You're welcome! We don't have many trick-or-treaters in my neighborhood, but every year I hope. Just in case, I buy candy that I like!

mosilager - You're welcome and thanks!

suttonhoo - LOL! Glad I met your expectations! : )

samuru999 - You're welcome Margie!

wheresmymind - Oh no! Well, I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures. I know they'll be wonderful.

nike - It is beautiful. I haven't heard anything about the Celtics, so I have no idea how they are doing. I guess it's still pretty early in the season. They just may be celebrating later on.

dezel - I think I'll just be hoping for trick-or-treaters. When I was a kid, we would be out for hours. Kids just don't seem to go out like that anymore. I guess times have changed...

What about you? Any Halloween plans? By the way, what wine goes best with candy corn? : )

Early Halloween indeed. What are you going to do for Halloween?

Hi Anali,

I think times changed a long time ago; I recall we used to go trick or treatings as kids until the candy poisoning scares started to happen. I think a lot of parents took heed to this and found alternative ways to celebrate.

starry nights - The actual night, not much, hopefully handing out a few treats. I just found out about a possible Halloween party this weekend. Not sure if I'll have the time to get a costume together.

What are you and your family doing? Do the kids have their costumes?

dezel - I do remember when the scary stuff started happening and we only took wrapped candy and only went to the houses of people that we knew. I guess it's still fun with the parties and such, but I sure did have fun trick-or-treating. Back in the day...
