How American English Sounds

(Via A Cup of Jo)

Last night I was riding home on the T. I was so tired and closed my eyes to rest.

An older couple sitting across from me was speaking Italian. I have no idea what they were saying, but it sounded delicious. Each word was soft and melodic in my ears like a lullaby.

This short film is spoken in fake American English and is supposed to be what it sounds like to people who don't understand English. It's mostly gibberish, but there are a few "choice phrases" and words in actual English.

It does sound like English and is hilariously dramatic. Sit back and enjoy the film Skwerl!

I definitely hear the German influence. German plus alien :)

alessandra - I wish I could convey it to you. But it sounds great! ; )

el - I hear it too. So strange, but it's there. : )

Lovely - and the dinner looked so delicious! Such passion. Meaning despite the lack of clarity. Being able to understand a little bit perhaps gave me a false feeling that I truly understood what was going on.

can-can - I was thinking the same thing about the food! I don't know what happened exactly, but he said something that really set her off! ; )
