Happy Mother's Day!
At my mother's request, there will be chocolate cake baking happening here today. I'm going to make vanilla frosting with a mocha surprise between the two layers.
For dinner, she surprised me. I was going to cook, but then she said that she really enjoyed my last birthday meal and wanted the same. So we'll be having Tandoori Chicken, Tandoori Shrimp, and garlic naan. Yum! Just one phone call away.
When I went to the store last night, a woman saw me, had the biggest smile on her face and wished me a Happy Mother's Day. I said, "Thank you!" I smiled back at her, and wished her the same. She was so friendly, I felt happier just having interacted with her.
If you're a woman over a certain age, most people assume that you have kids. When you meet someone new, it's one of the first things that is asked.
A few weeks ago, I attended a small business seminar. The instructor walked around the room asking each of us about the work that we do or want to do and had us share with everyone. Then she continued to interact with us to give examples of different situations for everyone.
She asked if I had children. When I told her that I did not, I could see the surprise on her face and how she had to change what she planned to say. Oh well.
So to everyone out there, whether you're a mom or not, have a great day!
