Adventures In Scone Baking

Yesterday morning, I taught another scone baking class at Brookline Adult & Community Education.

Since I felt more comfortable this time, I took a few pictures. Scone baking from scratch is catching on!

Class was really fun. I feel such a sense of accomplishment when my students say that they never realized how easy it was to make scones. They also really seemed to like the versatility of the recipe. I was so proud when they adapted it!

After class was over and I was cleaning up, I heard some people talking in the hallway. They said, "It smells so good in here!" I smiled to myself. Then they peeked in the door.

There were four of them trying to find The Museum of Bad Art. I had never heard of it before and couldn't direct them. They asked what I was doing and I told them that I had just taught a class. They kept saying how good it smelled in there and what a nice classroom it was. It is a nice bright room. With windows all around and the sunlight was streaming in.

There were some leftover scones that I was going to bring home, but instead I offered them. They were so excited and gladly accepted. I had some extra recipe booklets, so I gave them those also and said that I hope they take the class next time. Who knows?

Anyway, they were really happy and I hope they enjoyed their scones. What a nice way to start my Saturday. I hope that you're all having a good weekend too!

Wish I lived closer, I'd take your scones class. I've always wanted to learn how and did think they were difficult to make. However after your post with pics I think I'll give it a go. Wish I could also reach in and take one from the plate.

You go, girl! That's how it starts, one class at a time, and then it builds... Waiting for your post that says you just can't take another day of classes! Come visit when you can...

chris - They're fun to make. Let me know if you try!

sharlene - I don't think that I'd ever complain about too many classes!
