Pure COOKIE Deliciousness!

Oatmeal cookies are the best during the winter. Actually they're pretty good anytime of year, but there's something very hearty about them that warms you up from the inside when it's cold and snowy outside. I love the cinnamon and raisin variety. The chocolate chip version is mighty good too.

I've been using an adapted recipe from the Field Guide to Cookies along with another recipe. But then I saw this recipe and wanted to try it. The proportions of butter, sugar, flour, and oatmeal call for halves rather than thirds like my other recipe. I cut the recipe in half, so there wouldn't be as many cookies. There has to be a rational point of stopping! Plus I added some coconut, and a few white chocolate chips too.

These cookies are so melty, rich, gooey, and chewy!

Happily the weather pattern seems to have changed and we haven't had a snowstorm in over a week! Plus, we're supposed to be in for a warm-up. I'll be baking these again. Regardless of the weather.

The thing I love about oatmeal cookies is that you can kid yourself into thinking you're eating something entirely healthy! Hey, it's got oatmeal and raisins, it must be good for you! :-)

suldog - I know! I can really delude myself that way. And the eggs have protein. I'd be crazy not to make these all the time! ; )

With all the baking you do how do you stay so svelte? Do you have friends you share the goodies with? Do you freeze some of the cookies? I've been craving chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies but dare not bake any. Can't eat just one and have a husband who can eat one cookie every 3 or 4 days. I will have to have a party I guess to make sure I have that 1 or 2 (okay 3) and give the rest away. Girl do these look good!

can-can - I do share most of these goodies, but I still eat my fair share too. I could never eat just one. Why bother? That's just painful! And thanks for calling me svelte! : )
