Water Emergency In Massachusetts
*Updated 5/4/10* I didn't get a T-shirt, but I survived the Aquapocalypse of 2010. It's over!
*Updated 5/3/10* The latest reports say that if all goes well, we may have clean water by Tuesday. I'll believe it when I drink it. But I'm hopeful. And what's a crisis without a T-shirt saying that you survived it?
*Updated 5/2/10* Another day under a boil water order. This wasn't my plan for May. Well, at least there's lots of humor over our water crisis.
On twitter, the catastrophe has been coined "aquapocalypse." Follow the fun! And of course, someone had to start a blog: Aqua-pocalypse. Others prefer the term H2OMG, but it's much less widely used.
That's the water news today. I just boiled water and made some iced coffee. Wish me luck!

I've been trying to let people know by calling, tweeting, and facebook, but wanted to do a quick post too. I just received a phone message from the City of Boston.
Please contact people in the impacted areas who may not know what is going on. I called several people who didn't know. Here's an excerpt from the MWRA Emergency Water Notice.
Water service to all MWRA customer communities east of Weston has been interrupted by a major water pipe break in Weston. Due to this break, A BOIL WATER ORDER IS BEING ISSUED FOR DRINKING WATER FOR ALL MWRA COMMUNITIES EAST OF WESTON UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. In addition, emergency water conservation measures are being implemented for all impacted communities.
Boil tap water for drinking, cooking, hand washing, brushing teeth, etc. More information here. The following communities are affected by the Boil Water Order.
