Still Loving The Single Layer Cakes
This summer, I confessed my crush on a single layer cake, which was my adaptation of Gourmet's Raspberry Buttermilk Cake.
The Swedish Visiting Cake is a classic too. One that I'll be baking for years to come. But there's a new cake in town.
The Norwegian Apple Cake. I discovered it on Tracy's blog last week.
Another wonderful single layer cake. I baked it this past weekend. It's gone already. G asked me to bake it again. It's quite possible.
I had planned to take a picture of a whole slice of the cake. But before I had a chance to, I realized that there were only a few crumbs left!

Gotta try this apple cake. It looks devine!
I love the look of that cake. We have a cake here called a tea cake In this part of the world...which is very similar in construction. I am going to make this...you could whip it up so quickly. Thanks
I found a recipe for a plum cake and another apple cake that I've made several times. I only make cakes when I'm going to a potluck or having lots of folks over. The cake monster inside of me would OD.
susan - Cheers! ; )
so simple - It takes just minutes to put together. When I think about the time, it's just as quick making it from scratch as using a cake mix. Oh, except for cutting up the apples! They do take a few minutes extra. : )
whimsical creations - Welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed your visit here. Hope to see you again.
suldog - LOL! Food blogging really does require a certain amount of restraint.
can-can - Thanks for the compliment! I'm not as svelte as I used to be unfortunately. But also, there's usually a bit of time between cakes. I used to save cakes for guests, but since G is here, it's an excuse to bake more.
tracy - Thanks again for the recipe and inspiration!
parisbreakfasts - It is indeed! ; )
se'lah - I just realized that if it weren't for you, that I may not have found Tracy or her cake. Without you, this post would not exist! So I guess I can blame the calories on you too? ; )
speaking of cakes, i received the sweetest cupcake postcard in the mail~ thank you, my friend. thank you.
xoxo
