Yes We Ate

An Obama Cake! For one of the many desserts that we had on Thanksgiving, my Aunt K brought this beautiful cake from Daniel's Bakery in Brighton Center.

Nobody wanted to be the first one to cut it, so it sat there for a bit. Eventually we all dug in though. Obamalicious!

I love it. Did she order it specially, or did they make it as part of the post election celebrations?

bipolarlawyercook - I think she brought in the picture and special ordered it. I actually did something similar with a cake for my parents anniversary at Stop & Shop. I guess the technology is there, so most bakeries can replicate any picture on a cake. So cool!!

T - Isn't it?? ; )

A perfect choice for Thanksgiving Day!

I've heard about photo transfers for cakes, but I've never actually seen one. Just wondering, did the image change the taste or texture of the frosting?

cheryl - My piece was so little and it wasn't part of the image. Everyone tried eating around it.

I've had a cake like that before though with a picture. I ordered one for my parent's 40th anniversary party. Maybe that will be another post. I'll have to get permission before using the picture though. But the frosting tasted the same even with the picture on it. It was so cool!

mosilager - I think this is one of the most famous pictures ever. Hmmm. I should print it out and save it. I only have it online at this point.
