Just Drinking Some Tea
Luckily I was home today and didn't have to deal with the bitter cold and whipping winds outside. From what I saw on the news, the wind chill factor was around five degrees and I think it's dropping.
My comforter is in the dryer and I have to check on it in a few minutes. I also want to make some soup and do a bit of baking. Plus I'm working on a longer blog post that hasn't quite congealed yet. We'll see how much I actually accomplish in the few hours remaining of today.
I saw on the news that there is a horrible flu virus making its way through Massachusetts. A lot of people that I know have been sick, but I just had my one cold a few weeks ago so far. Let's hope it stays that way!
Normally I'm a coffee person - with a chai exception. But when it's really cold or I'm sick or trying to keep from getting sick, I drink tea. The type of tea doesn't really matter, but I squeeze the juice of a whole lemon in it and use a lot of honey. When I drink this at least once a day, but preferably twice, I'm better within a few days. I've told other people about it too and it's worked for them. I'm not sure how this will work for the flu, but for a cold, this is the remedy that I swear by.

Lots of flu here too!
Take good care!

I drink tea with lemon when I feel a cold coming on too. I usually cut the lemon and let it boil in the water for a minute or too before steeping the tea. I love it!
I like herbal teas, peppermint is my favorite but I like green tea also.
margie - Actually I'm feeling fine. I'm in full prevention mode right now!
mes deux cents - That's a good idea about boiling the lemon. I'll have to try that! Thanks!
And for the sore throat mix equal quantities of lemon and honey and sip it from a spoon. Very soothing
