Hi Anali

I thought I was going to be the first to comment on your article
but ti won't let me so I will do it here instead

I love your story and I am looking forward to your next posting.

It's funny in this part of the world (New Zealand) gingerbread is not a Christmas kind of thing. It’s all sorts of baking made with various dried fruits
Little fruit mince pies, boozy Xmas Cake and of course Plum pudding.
Perhaps I will make your ginger bread and start a new tradition

so simple - I'm glad you liked the story! We have fruit cakes and plum puddings for Christmas here too, but a lot of people don't really seem to like them.

I love plum pudding! My aunt used to always make it and it was the best! Let me know if you make the gingerbread. And I appreciate your trying to be the first comment!

starry nights - Thanks for the support. I really appreciate your reading it. It's nice to see you back in the blogosphere and I hope you can make the gingerbread soon!

jeff - I'm glad you liked it! And I saw your comment! Thank you so much! You're my first comment there!

Great stuff, Anali, how nice of you to share your grandmother's recipe with us - there's just something about those recipes of old - they always taste so good to me!

I haven't started any holiday baking yet, but I am tempted to try your gingerbread!

The best of luck with your new venture, you're going to have so much fun with it!

vasilisa - Thank you! This certainly is the season for baking.

jac - Thanks cousin! I saw on some other blogs today that people were having problems posting their names to beta. Must have been a glitch somewhere.

asha - Thank you friend! I feel like it's both a venture and an adventure actually!

lotus reads - There is something about an old recipe. It makes me feel like I'm part of history in a way - doing my small part to keep this bit of food culture alive.

nance - I've never tried the lemon sauce, but it sounds yum!
