Making Me Happy

I just read a very interesting article about happiness. I always find it interesting to see what makes us as humans happy. Sometimes it surprises me how the smallest thing can make me positively giddy. Yet something on a larger scale, well, not so much. I don't understand it. But trying to learn fascinates me.

Last week, I watched the Michael J. Fox television special about optimism. I really enjoyed it and hope to read his book Always Looking Up: The Adventures of an Incurable Optimist. It looks really inspiring.

But I've already been feeling ecstatic lately. It's not even logical, I know. But as many of you know, I'm an Al B. Sure fan from way back. Well, his long awaited CD, Honey I'm Home, will be released next month. I am out of my mind over the top excited! It's translating to the rest of my life. Happiness is happiness regardless of the reason, so I guess I'll just go with it. I am so loving the song "Top Of Your Lungs." I cannot wait to hear the whole CD.

I know this is a total commercial for his CD, but I've received nothing in exchange for this post. And I usually don't put music on my blog posts, but I truly cannot stop myself. Al B. gets special privileges on this blog.

Music is always on the top of the list of things that make me happy. Lately, though, I've been finding myself constantly amazed by all sorts of music, even songs I've been listening to for more than a quarter century.

I take that as a good thing.

I like that...Hopefully the whole album will be good. I'm always weary of "comeback" records :)
Sounds nice ... sexy. ;-) It is amazing how music can change one's mood immediately.

Always go for the joy and seize the moment!

endangered coffee - I've always loved music and the range of it always amazes me too. I specifically remember thinking when I was a kid that music would run out some day and how horrible that would be. I'm so glad that I was wrong!

nina - I have no doubt the whole album will be great! Then again, I could be setting myself up for a huge disappointment. But I think he waited so long to be sure that it would be really amazing.

shirley - Music really does change the mood immediately. I guess that's why movies have sound tracks. Without them, everything would be much less intense.

Wonderful post...I know just how you feel. I love those moments of unexpected, unexplained happiness, and music can just move it up to a whole new level.

kirti - I guess a lot of us read that article! Music is the soundtrack of our lives. I can't imagine life without it.

lynne - Welcome! And thank you for the kind words! I agree. Music is that added something that brings everything up a notch.
That's funny, I also worried about the music running out thing when I was a kid!

endangered coffee - I wonder if that's a big kid fear? Interesting...
