My name is Lisa Johnson and I've been writing this blog since 2006. I was born in Boston, Massachusetts, USA and live just a few miles south in historic Quincy. Read some frequently asked questions about this blog here. Learn about my freelance writing too.

I'm very curious by nature and solve dessert mysteries. Going behind the scenes to see how things are made, then sharing them here with you is a definite perk to this blog. Curious about how bagels are made? What about the rum distillery  process? They are both fascinating!

There's usually plenty of baking related activity on this blog, because I have a wicked sweet tooth. I'm trying to eat smaller portions, so I'm baking single serving desserts aka Desserts With Borders.

I love sweet wines, travel, plus finding and sharing interesting places in the Boston area too. In the summer, you can find free yoga classes. Year-round, there are plenty of places to exercise your creative crafting muscles. I make it my duty to tell you when there is free food. Sometimes I give away stuff here too.

Also, I'm keeping track of products for the home made in the USA.

BLOG SCHEDULE:  After 7 years of blogging, there have been many changes over time. Something new that I'm trying is blogging just twice a week and on a schedule. There is always room for a bit of flexibility, but in general, new blog posts will be on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Before May 2010, I wrote reviews and sponsored posts on a separate review blog called Anali Says. Going forward, all reviews and sponsored posts are written on Anali's First Amendment.
