Subway Stories - Life Lessons

I took these pictures of the Red Line in Quincy about a month ago. The plan was to use them right away.

But the more that I blog, the more I end up not writing things the way that I first planned.

The same thing happens with photographs. Sometimes I end up not using them at all.

I've been rather pensive over the last few days though. And for some reason, it makes sense to use them now.

When I took these pictures, I was ending a walk. I stopped on the bridge over the tracks.

I remember thinking that if I waited long enough, and paid attention, something would happen. Then the trains went by. And I was ready with my camera.

Maybe there is a life lesson here. Maybe not.

Beautiful pics. A lot can be learned by pondering trains.

We always consider trains of any kind good luck. We all take delight in spying a train and when our son was little, he'd yell out with delight, "I saw it first!" With boys, there's always competition it seems. ;-)

I find what you said about blog posts and what you intended and what you actually wrote (and when) to be very true. I think the pieces just come together differently than we expect, but usually they come together easier if we don't rush it/force fit them. :-)

Great photos--thanks!

Just LOVE these images, Anali...they are ethereal. Trains are good for contemplation in many ways. :o)

willow - Glad you like the pics!

shirley - Thank you! I do like to think that in the end, things come together the way that they're supposed to.

tracy - There is something special about trains. They feel kind of timeless in a way. I just remembered the movie "Sliding Doors" with Gwyneth Paltrow. Great movie by the way.

carol - I guess it's a virtue, because it's so hard!! ; )

I don't know about the life lesson, but I'm a subway buff, so I always like good subway pictures (even if it's the Red Line, with which I'm more familiar than any other subway line in the world, riding it for 50+ years now!)
